What: December Holiday Meeting on a Bus!!
Where: Union Station, The
Bruery, Noble Ale Works, and Bottle Logic
When: Saturday, December 6th, 2p – 7p
Why: You are an awesome Yeastside Member and as a reward, we are ending the year with a bang and taking our December meeting on the road and checking out some great Orange County Breweries

Greetings Yeastside Brewers,

This year is coming to an end and want to thank you for the great year we have had.  We have increased our membership steadily throughout the year, we have participated in numerous beer events pouring our great homebrew, and we had strong showings in local homebrew competitions.  There is always more that can be done but I am proud of the board for their hard work and dedication.  As a show of our appreciation, we are all set for our December Bus Tour in Orange County.  I am really excited to spend the day tasting some great beer with great company!  Here are the details and look forward to seeing you this weekend!

December Meeting Orange County Bus Tour:

I sent this information out to all members who RSVP’d.  If you did not receive the email, please reply to this email to ensure I am aware that you are going on the tour.  We currently have 8 spots available for the tour and you can  RSVP or reply directly to this email to grab one of the final spots!  First come first serve!

To reduce our impact on the breweries we will be visiting, I would ask that you bring cash for any beer purchases throughout the day.  We will run into issues if we have to close out 30 tabs and make it to the next brewery on time!  I would also ask that you listen for any instructions from your yeastside boards members!  We want to be able to spend as much time at each brewery and will need to stick to a strict schedule to ensure we don’t miss anything!

1:45p – 2:00p – Meet at Union Station – WE WILL LEAVE PROMPTLY AT 2:00p SO PLAN ACCORDINGLY!!
800 N. Alameda Street
Los Angeles, Ca 90012
We will meet at the Patsaouras Transit Plaza side, which is at the intersection of Alameda and N. Los Angeles Street.    Please arrive promptly at 1:45p so we can load up the bus and be on the road exactly at 2:00p.  As for getting to Union Station, I highly recommend Metro Rail, Bus, Bike, or get dropped off.  There is parking available at the Gateway Plaza(behind Union Station) which is $6 for the day.  Bike Racks are available next to the Alameda Street Entrance.  Union Station is serviced by the Red, Purple and Gold Lines and Metro Buses service the station as well.
2:00p – 2:45p – Drive Down to the Bruery
Our adventure down to Orange County begins.  If you have never been on a Brewery Bus Tour, then you are in for a treat!  We are able to have drinks and snacks on the bus and there is a bathroom on board.  We will provide some snacks and water for the group, but you are welcome to bring some snacks to share and plenty of homebrew to sample.  I recommend using your Yeastside Lanyard to secure your tasting glass or bring a plastic cup.  It can get a little bumpy on the bus!
2:45p – 4:00p – The Bruery – Placentia, Ca
I am excited to start the day at such a great craft brewery!!  The Bruery specializes in barrel aged and experimental ales and I have never been disappointed in any of their wonderful beers.   They have offered a $5 discounted flight of a mix of beers.  They are requesting cash so we don’t have to wait in line for credit card transactions.  We will be hosted in the brewhouse and will be able to drink our beers among the fermenters and brew kettles!  They have also offered small group tours of the production space, so please think of any questions you have to ask about their operations.  Finally, they have offered 15% off merchandise and beer to go.
4:00p – 5:15p – Noble Ale Works – Anaheim, Ca
Our next stop is Noble Ale Works.  They are dedicated to creating full flavored craft beer and our located right next to Angel Stadium.  They also have offered 15% off our our group tab and have a variety of different options(tasters, full pints, flights) to choose from.  I again would recommend cash as we will be able to pay quicker and not have to wait in line as long!
5:15p – 6:30p – Bottle Logic Brewing – Anaheim, Ca
Our final stop will be one of the newer breweries in the area, Bottle Logic.  I was able to check them out earlier this year and really enjoyed the beer they had and they have a pretty unique tasting room.   They have offered a 10% discount off our purchases and they also have a 5 taster flight for $8.  I would again recommend cash to make things easier.  They have offered their warehouse space to host the group and have offered tours of the brewery.
6:30p – 7:00p – Drive Up to Union Station
We will head back to Union Station at 6:30p at the latest!  We might arrive slightly after 7:00p but the plan is to be back on time.  Usually the ride back is full of sleepy people but we can keep the party rolling if you so desire.  Stay tuned for some after tour activities that will be happening that night!

LA IPA Festival:

Although it conflicts with our December Meeting and bus tour, I wanted to let you all know about the LA IPA Festival that is happening this weekend.  It is December 6th at Mohawk Bend in Echo Park.  Not only will there be plethora of great IPA’s available, but two of our members, Matt and Sarah Luker, will have one of their beers in the lineup!  It is there Collaboration beer with Bravery Brewing called Plant Trance.  Here is a great article listing all the beers and info.  Anyone up for some extra curricular activity after the brewery tour?!?!?!

Transplant Brewing Indiegogo Campaign:

As some of you might have heard, Yeastside Members Matt and Sarah Luker are in the process of opening their own Brewery in Palmdale!!  This is very exciting for them and I wish them the best of luck.  They always have unique and tasty homebrew and I am excited to see how they progress and can’t wait to taste some Transplant Beer in their very own Brewery!  Here is a link to their Indiegogo campaign.  You can help by contributing and sharing the campaign with everyone you know!!  Best of luck Matt and Sarah!

January’s meeting will be announced soon by our new president Louie!!

I look forward to seeing you all next weekend.  Happy Brewing to you all, and see you on Saturday!

Cheers
