| Please note that the December meeting has been moved to Sunday the 4th, in order to avoid conflicts with the ColLAboration event at Golden Road Brewery on the 3rd, and the Strong Ale Festival at Pizza Port Carlsbad on the 2nd and 3rd. So why not go to one or both of those, and devote the whole weekend to great beer?This meeting will be hosted by Owner Gabe Gordon and Brewmaster Julian Shrago of Beachwood BBQ & Brewing in Long Beach! Julian will be giving a tour of the brewery, as well as answering our questions about his beers and his recent move from home brewer to Pro. Read a little bit more about them in this LA Weekly article from June.You can easily get here via the Metro Blue Line, as the 5th St. Station is just 2 blocks from the brewery. Consider taking the Metro, and leaving your car at home.
The style of the month is Belgian Strong Ales, but feel free to bring any type of homebrew to share and discuss with your fellow brewers.
Congrats go to Jeff Koehler for winning a 2nd place for his Export Stout in the California Homebrew Competition! This is the beer he brewed at the club brew in July behind the Eagle Rock Homebrew Shop. Full results can be seen here.
