When: Saturday, January 4th, 2pm – 6pm Where: Eagle Rock Home Brewing Supply, 4981 Eagle Rock Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90041 Dear Yeastsiders, This Saturday, January 4th, we will be having our first meeting of the year at Eagle Rock Home Brewing Supply from 2pm – 6pm. This weekend looks to be beautiful, and there is no better way to celebrate the New Year than with some outstanding homebrew. Please plan your transportation responsibly! IPA’s will be the style of the month. I have asked our new Competition Coordinator and previous president, Josh Jensen, to provide a tasting for everyone during the announcements. Josh will lead us in a toast for the 3rd Anniversary of our Club! We welcome your homebrews of this style, as well as any other style you have to share. Moving forward, there will be a change in how we determine the style of the month. Details to come. Things to bring to Saturday’s Meeting:
Thanks to previous and future Board Members: I just wanted to thank all the previous Board Members for their work in promoting and running our club. Jerl Leutz accomplished a lot this past year as president, and really set the bar high for what we want to accomplish this year. Danny Exum and Jeff Koehler have been Treasurer and Competition Coordinator for the past two years, respectively. We have increased member numbers, increased medal counts in competitions, and have certified BJCP judges during the past year. I thank them both for their hard work and dedication to the club. Jeremy Stacy will continue his role as Administrative Coordinator. Thank you Jeremy for helping us get organized! I welcome Louie, Gayle, and Josh to the board this year, and I look forward to all that we will accomplish. It is going to be a great year! Competitions: The Competition season is starting up and the first competition is the Doug King Memorial Competition 2014. Registration and entries must be submitted by January 10th. For your convenience, you can bring your entries to the Meeting Saturday! Please note that this competition uses the Maltose Falcons Style Guidelines, as opposed to the BJCP Guidelines. We will update the Competition Schedule soon so check it regularly for updates. Josh will also have some announcements at the meeting as well. So far we have the following competitions to plan for, with many more to come.
