MEETINGS
Otherwise, have a Homebrew and see you when this whole thing blows over.
MEETINGS SCHEDULE
We typically meet the second Saturday of every month from 2 to 6PM, unless preempted by a special event or holiday. Locations revolve between members homes (for brew days or related demonstrations), Local Brewery Tasting Rooms, and area beer destinations and field trips

JANUARY
STYLE OF THE MONTH
Meeting Date: Jan 14th 2023
@ Thomas’ House
This category describes everyday American beers that have a wide public appeal. Containing both ales and lagers, the beers of this category are not typically complex, and have smooth, accessible flavors. The ales tend to have lager-like qualities, or are designed to appeal to mass-market lager drinkers as crossover beers. Mass-market beers with a more international appeal or origin are described in the International Lager category.
FEBRUARY
STYLE OF THE MONTH
Meeting Date: Feb 11th 2023
@ Glendale Tap
A dark German lager that balances roasted yet smooth malt flavors with moderate hop bitterness. The lighter body, dryness, and lack of a harsh, burnt, or heavy aftertaste helps make this beer quite drinkable.
MARCH
STYLE OF THE MONTH
Meeting Date: March 11th 2023
@ Travis’ House
The traditional beers of Ireland contained in this category are amber to dark, top-fermented beers of moderate to slightly strong strength, and are often widely misunderstood due to differences in export versions, or overly focusing on the specific attributes of beer produced by high-volume, well-known breweries. Each of the styles in this grouping has a wider range than is commonly believed.

APRIL
STYLE OF THE MONTH
Meeting Date: April 8th 2023
@ Highland Park Brewing
Not necessarily spontaneously-fermented; rather, influenced by microbes other than traditional brewer’s yeasts, or perhaps mixed-fermentation beers. Base styles in this category do not have to be Classic Styles (although they can be); something like, “blond ale, 7%” would be fine, since the underlying style is often lost under the fermentation character.
MAY
STYLE OF THE MONTH
Meeting Date: May TBD 2022
@ Cerveceria
Any beer that does not fit into an Existing Style description. No beer is ever “out of style” in this style, unless it can be entered in another beer style first. This is the last resort for any beer entered into a competition
JUNE
STYLE OF THE MONTH
Meeting Date: June 10th 2023
@ TBD
A competition entry category, not a distinct style. Beers entered here are not experimental beers; they are a collection of currently-produced types of beer that may or may not have any market longevity. This category also allows for expansion, so potential future IPA variants (St. Patrick’s Day Green IPA, Romulan Blue IPA, Zima Clear IPA, etc.) have a place to be entered without rewriting the style guidelines. The only common element is that they have the balance and overall impression of an IPA (typically, an American IPA) but with some minor tweak.
JULY
STYLE OF THE MONTH
Meeting Date: July 8th 2023
@ Brown Soul
A pale, spicy, fruity, refreshing wheat-based ale
&
A pale, dry, bitter German lager featuring a prominent hop aroma. Crisp, clean, and refreshing, showing a brilliant gold color with excellent head retention.
AUGUST
STYLE OF THE MONTH
Cider / Mead
Meeting Date: Aug 12th 2023
@ TBD
Mead is created by fermenting honey with water, sometimes with various fruits, spices, grains, or hops.
Cider is made from the fermented juice of apples.
SEPTEMBER
STYLE OF THE MONTH
Meeting Date: Sept TBD 2023
@ TBD
An amber, malty German lager with a clean, rich, toasty, bready malt flavor, restrained bitterness, and a well-attenuated finish. The overall malt impression is soft, elegant, and complex, with a rich malty aftertaste that is never cloying or heavy.
OCTOBER
STYLE OF THE MONTH
Meeting Date: Oct TBD 2023
@ TBD
Originated in England even if some are now more widely associated with Ireland. In this case, “British” means the broader British Isles not Great Britain
November
STYLE OF THE MONTH
Meeting Date: Nov TBD 2023
@ Arrow’s Lodge or high point
Specialty-Type Beers that have a smoke character. Either Classic styles or specialty styles and any type of smoked beer with additional specialty ingredients
DECEMBER
Seasonal Spiced Beers
Party Date: Dec TBD 2023
@ Andrew’s House
A stronger, darker, spiced beer that often has a rich body and warming finish suggesting a good accompaniment for the cold winter season.
