MEETINGS

MEETINGS SCHEDULE

We typically meet the second Saturday of every month from 2 to 6PM, unless preempted by a special event or holiday. Locations revolve between members homes (for brew days or related demonstrations), the Eagle Rock Homebrew Supply Shop, Local Brewery Tasting Rooms, and area beer destinations and field trips.

APRIL

STYLE OF THE MONTH
Kölsch (5B) & California Common (19B)

We are not going to be around for a commercial tasting, but if you wanted to try this at home classic examples of the California Common are going to be your Anchor Steam and for Kolsch I always like ERB’s version.

MAY

STYLE OF THE MONTH

If this event takes place, Brewer of the Year points will be awarded to those that participate in this months style.

If this event does not take place, I think this years bus trip will just be us going to all the places we missed at the end of the year and doing 4-5 really condensed homebrew meetings at each place and pretending we actually had a meeting.

May 1st - May 9th
Yeastside Brewers Party @ Home Box

If you have beer you want to share, please click the link below to sign up. We have about 6 people so far and would like another 6 so everyone can get a homebrew sampler.

Sign up here if you would like to participate in this crazy idea.

JUNE

STYLE OF THE MONTH

Meeting Location: Indie Brewing Company – June 16th

This category contains more strongly flavored and higher alcohol lagers from Germany and the Baltic region.

Most are dark, but some pale versions are known.

JULY

STYLE OF THE MONTH

Meeting Location: Relentless Brewing – July 11th

This category contains the pale, well-attenuated, balanced to bitter beers, often more driven by yeast character than malt flavors, with generally higher alcohol (although a range exists within styles).

AUGUST

STYLE OF THE MONTH

Meeting Location: Jeff’s House – Aug 1st

Mead is an alcoholic beverage created by fermenting honey with water, sometimes with various fruits, spices, grains, or hops. The alcoholic content ranges from about 3.5% ABV to more than 20%. The defining characteristic of mead is that the majority of the beverage’s fermentable sugar is derived from honey. It may be still, carbonated, or naturally sparkling; dry, semi-sweet, or sweet.

SEPTEMBER

STYLE OF THE MONTH

Meeting Location: Dry River Brewing – Sept 12th

The Fruit Beer category is for beer made with any fruit or combination of fruit. The culinary, not botanical, definition of fruit is used here – fleshy, seed-associated structures of plants that are sweet or sour, and edible in the raw state.

OCTOBER

STYLE OF THE MONTH

Meeting Location: Eagle Rock Brewery – Oct 10th – Octoberfest

A dark German lager that balances roasted yet smooth malt flavors with moderate hop bitterness. The lighter body, dryness, and lack of a harsh, burnt, or heavy aftertaste helps make this beer quite drinkable.

November

STYLE OF THE MONTH

Meeting Location: 101 Cider House – Nov 14th

Cider is an alcoholic beverage made from the fermented juice of apples, while Perry is created using juice from pears.

DECEMBER

HOLIDAY PARTY

Party Location: Andrew & Lis’ House – Dec 12th
