See the full results here. Four Yeastside Brewers entered beers that placed. Ward G. Walkup IV got a 1st place in Cat. 14 IPA, for his “Pacific Rim IPA” (we got a taste of this great beer at the Sept. meeting). Josh Jensen got a 1st place and 2nd Runner-up Best of Show in Cat. 15 German Wheat and Rye beer for his “Hubris Hefeweizen.” Jerl Leutz got a 3rd place in Cat. 16 Belgian and French Ales for his “Oaked Trappist Tripel with Agave.” Jeff Koehler got a 2nd place in Cat. 23 Specialty Ales for his “Rye Barleywine.” This was a great showing for our young club!
The next big competition is the 33rd Annual California State Homebrew comp. Entries are due Oct. 15th, and you need to ship them up to Concord or Berkeley.
The next upcoming COC is Hefeweizen (BJCP 15A-15D) in November. Then Dark Lagers in Jan 2012 and Stout in March. Brew a batch to enter!
