Dear Yeastsiders,
As many of you might have heard, the California Homebrew Festival has been cancelled this year. This is unfortunate, but we are not going to let it get us down. We are YEASTSIDERS!! We are going to have our own Festival!!!! The Board and I have booked a Group Camping Site at Pyramid Lake in Lebec, Ca (just north of Santa Clarita), and we want you to join us for a great weekend! Here are the details.
Pyramid Lake Camping Trip
- The group site can hold 40 people. If you want a spot, you need to RSVP ASAP!!! Once we fill the 40 spots, we will not be able to add any more people.
- Check in Time is 2:00pm on Friday May 2nd, and Check out Time is 12:00pm on Sunday May 4th.
- $20 per person will include camping fees, ice, and wood, for the weekend.
- The group site is for tent camping. I would consider it very easy car camping! We will have bathrooms, running water, and a small general store for basic necessities.
- There is a lake nearby for fishing, swimming, and boating. If you have a boat, I guarantee you will be the most popular person for the weekend!
- The site is Dog Friendly so feel free to bring your pups.
- We will have Bocce, Corn hole, and a variety of other games to keep us entertained throughout the weekend
- Beer, beer and more beer. All the beer we were going to bring to the CHA, we will bring to the camping trip!
- A possible field trip to a local honey farm if we get enough interest.

Competition Update and Yeastsiders in the News
- The Mayfaire Homebrew Competition run by the Maltose Falcons is coming up! Registration and entries are due April 10th. Get those entries in and be sure to let them know you are a Yeastsider.
- Gayle, our Treasurer and Founding Member of Angry Horse Brewing, organized a great event with Yeastside Members, Mary Novokhovsky, Kelly Beach, Georgia Bell, and Sarah Bennett for International Women’s Collaboration Brew Day. Check out some of the Press they have gotten! Want to try this Beer? They will be pouring it at City Tavern in Culver City on April 19th. More details to come at the next meeting and be sure to check out the City Tavern events page for more info. Great job ladies! I can’t wait to try the beer.
